Wet milling and thin-film evaporation process visualization.

A browser-based 3D model of a process setup where two piston pumps dose liquid feeds from 5 L bottle caps through flow meters into a Y-type tube mounted above an IKA magic LAB / IKA 2000 inline rotor-stator with an MK module head for wet milling.

Process Route

Liquid A is a yellow API and polymer solution in DCM/MeOH. Liquid B is 1% PVA in water. Both feeds are dosed by FMI Q pump drive modules with V300 stroke rate controllers, pass through flow meters, merge in the Y-type inlet above the IKA inline wet milling head, and then enter the Artisan Rototherm Mini.

In the Rototherm Mini thin-film evaporator, dichloromethane rapidly evaporates under 400 mbar vacuum, exits from the top, condenses, and is collected in a 3 L bottle. The mixed slurry leaves through the middle outlet, drains to a 5 L bottle, and is transferred by a peristaltic pump to a 2 L collection bottle.
